To Our Walking Team,
On Monday 5 May I had a good chat to Yossi who mentioned that he is thinking of organizing a walk for June. Until then I am happy to meet for a walk this Saturday. That is, Saturday 10 May. So we could meet at Federation Wharf at one thirty (1.30pm) for a two (2pm) start. Federation Wharf is down on the Fed Square side of the Yarra right next to Princes Bridge. It is right at the water. You can get there by walking down the stairs or using the elevator. I will be at a table outside if I can get a seat and I will be wearing grey pants, jogging/walking shoes and a red mountaineering polar fleece jacket. If you can?t find me on the day just give me a call on my mobile 0431909642. So I look forward to the walk and good company on Saturday. John On 4/05/08 Emma wrote: Hi all, Emma again! I'm looking forward to May 10th too! I walk everyday in and around the city, so if some of you can't make Saturdays or Sundays, I'm also happy to walk during the week in the early evenings. I'm East Melbourne, so if anyone would like to walk more regularly but can't make the organised meets, I'm more than happy to meet up for a brisk or long stroll. See you guys May 10th. Emma On 4/05/08 Daniel wrote: Hi all, Daniel here. Just signed up as well so haven?t been to a walk yet, but I look forward to meeting you all. I live in Williamstown and there are some really nice walks down here along the coast, although it might be a bit far for some but just a thought. May 10 is good for me. Thanks! tata, kwok On 3/05/08, Angela wrote: Dear one and all, I joined this email group a few months ago and this is the first email. I am keen to join you all on May 10th. The walk described by John sounds good, but shorter is okay if it doesn't suit all. Looking forward to confirmation of meeting time and place. Walks and times- I prefer Saturdays --mornings or afternoons are OK except occasionally I work. There's a neat cafe at Fed square, down by the river called Federation Wharf-- go down the stairs or get the lift. They do a neat range of nibbles, drinks etc but they also have a sausage bar-- BBQ fried onions etc-- wonderful smell after exercise as I can testify! Just a thought. There are plenty of walks around here-- how far does everybody want to go? I look forward to meeting you all-- the 10th May sounds good. Best wishes to all, Ruth On 1/05/08, John Pattison wrote: To Our Walking Team, I just recently joined the group and, as such, I haven't been on a walk yet. I was thinking that we could, perhaps, meet Saturday afternoons as I have a jogging group on Saturday mornings. So we could possibly meet on Saturday afternoons at a Cafe at Fed Square at, say, one thirty (1.30pm) for a two (2pm) start. So members of the group could have something lite, like a coffee or milkshake, when we meet at one thirty (1.30pm) and then at two (2pm) we could have our walk. We could walk from Fed Square along St Kilda Road until we get to the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). At the NGV we could all turn left and then walk around the tan track which travels next to Birdwood Avenue. Next we could walk down Anderson Street Hill and then walk back to Fed Square along the Yarra for some lunch. Walks in or around the Fitzroy Gardens and other parts of Melbourne could also be good. I have already made plans for this Saturday afternoon but I could make Saturday of next week. That is, meeting at one thirty (1.30pm) at Fed Square for a two (2pm) start on Saturday 10 May. So these are just some ideas and I look forward to your response. If anyone knows a good Cafe at Fed Square, well, this could be good to know as well. Fitzroy Gardens, Birrarung Marr, Federation Square, etc. I look forward to my first walk meet. To Our Walking Team,
We had an enjoyable walk with four (4) people participating. That is, full of good conversation as we walked briskly around part of the tan track and back along the river to Federation Wharf for a snack. We agreed on meeting again in two (2) weeks time. Everyone is welcome. That is, meeting at Federation Wharf on Saturday 24 May at one thirty (1.30pm) for a two (2pm) start. For those of you who don?t know where Federation Wharf is, well, it is on the Yarra and next to Princes Bridge and Fed Square. We are also all looking forward to when Yossi organizes a walk in June. For the walk on Saturday 24 May I will be wearing the same clothes that I was wearing today so that I am easy to be identified. I will be wearing grey pants, jogging/walking shoes and a red mountaineering polar fleece jacket. I will be sitting at a table next to the water and if you can?t find me on the day I be contacted on 0431909642. We look forward to your company on the twenty fourth (24th). John |
