Happy 2008 to you all and welcome to the Glasgow Hillwalkers and Outdoor group. This year we would like to encourage more children along to the group, to date there is only Elle, club mascot and chatterbox, so go on get your wee brothers sisters, cousins, neices and nephews involved. We would love to see more of you out there. Those of you that have joined but have yet to attend a meet up, make it your New Year's resolution it's great fun and well worth the effort. We are looking forward to the coming year and will also start to alternate meet ups between Saturdays and Sundays. As you know we don't claim to be a professional set up, we don't march you around the country side we do, do our best to make the outings as care free and enjoyable as possible and judging by 2007 it seems to work. Thank you to all exsisting members and welcome to all you new members.

Ben Donich
Ben Donich in the Arrochar Alps provides an interesting walk with great views from the summit. Views down to Loch Goil, Loch Long and out to Ailsa Craig and Ben Lomond in the other direction are well worth the hike up the hill!
The walk starts off from the carpark north of Rest and be Thankful (reducing the actual climbing involved ), so please be not put off by the height of the summit. Read more
