This is a great Meetup to join if you want to add more workout partners to their buddy list or have ever wanted to get out of a routine workout regimen.

The first two steps to getting a great workout with Athletic Fitness & Social Walkers and to making this a place where "everybody knows your name," is by RSVP'ing and attending some of the FREE upcoming events.

Once you RSVP "Yes" or "Maybe" to an event, you will receive an automatic email reminder 2 weeks, 1 week and 1 day before it. If you add your cell number to your profile (only viewable by you), you will receive an automatic cell text/multimedia message 3 hours before the event, detailing the time, place, address and phone number of the meeting location. And last but not least, a couple of hours after the event, you will receive an automatic request to rate it.

This group is much more enjoyable for everyone when you are active in every step of this process, by not only RSVP'ing ("Yes", "No", or "Maybe") to an event, but by updating your RSVP if your plans change and by letting us know how much you enjoyed your experience thru the ratings.

One of the most important things you need do before participating in a fast walking event is to buy a good pair of running shoes for your foot type. Otherwise, you may have problems that are exasperated during/after a fast paced walk or caused because your are ponding you feet on the pavement.
