Beat the Back to the Work Week Blues with MaryC at Centennial Park

Centennial Park in Howard County
10000 State Route 108, Ellicott City, MD
Ellicott City , MD 21043
(410) 313-7256

Here is some information about the park...The lake, old field, woodland and wetland ecosystems that make up Centennial Park are home to abundant wildlife. Look for great blue herons, white cattle egrets and little green herons stalking minnows among the reeds. Swallows, turkey vultures and hawks soar overhead, and kingfishers dive into the lake for fish. In summer, turtles sun themselves on logs and rocks. Cottontail rabbits nibble on grass at dawn and dusk. Red fox have been known to visit. A beaver family is building a lodge in the Wildlife Area that is blocked by a buoy line to provide safe spawning for fish and nesting sites for birds. In warm months, look for colorful monarch and swallowtail butterflies and dragonflies among the wildflowers.

We will meet at the concession stand tables at 7:00 for a meet and greet and start walking at 7:10. There is no fee for this activity.

Not only are dogs allowed but Mutt-Mitt dispensers are located in the park in addition to plenty of trash cans. This walk is also family and stroller friendly and on a paved surface with many benches along the way.

We walk counterclockwise (this is to the right if you are facing the lake), so if you are late you can start walking the other direction and hook up with us, or call me and we will let you know where we are.

We all "step off" at the same time, but some walk faster, even jog some, while others just stroll, so no matter what your speed, there should be someone for you to walk with:) Come on out and join us for fun and exercise:)

Step Off Time is 7:10

See you there...don't forget my number just in case...
