The Windy City Walkers

Trek the parks and lakefront of Chicago, as well as Chicagoland walking-friendly communities, while enjoying the company of like-minded walking enthusiasts! This meetup is for people who want to incorporate regular exercise into their lives as part of a group. It is geared toward "leisurely" walkers, those just beginning a walking program, and/or those who wish to complete 2-5 mile walks to improve or maintain fitness. We'll expend some good effort, but this isn't a "push your cardio to the limit" group. For that, you'll have to go to your aerobics class! ("Power-walkers" are welcome, however; we can break into different groups and meet up at the end.) We usually include coffee/brunch and conversation! Be among the first to help create this meetup and lend your ideas for walking dates and routes! (It's advisable to get a doctor's okay before embarking on any new exercise program. Individual group members are responsible for their own health and safety.)

Our next meeting:
Museum Campus Circle
We'll meet at the edge of Lake Michigan between the Shedd and the Field Museum (there are benches* to sit on while waiting). We'll end up walking the path around the back of the Shedd, along the water which goes to Adler Planetarium, loops back and takes us past Soldier Field and McCormick Place to the point where I-55 starts. There we'll turn back around and do the reverse trip, all for a total of 3.5 miles. Read more
