If you'd like to make some new friends while getting a little exercise, this group is for you. As of now, I plan on scheduling walks for at least once a week (early enough in the day to end before dark). This schedule could expand to additional days or short weekend hikes (probably on Sunday afternoons) if there is enough interest and participat …

Our group has morphed over the several years its been in existence, from walking group to hiking group to all-kinds-of-activities group. As of July 2011 we're going back to mostly being a hiking group, with an occasional activity of another kind. Santa Clara Valley used to be called "The Valley of Heart's Delight," and we set out to explore all the places that were still delightful around here. Now we've done most of that, and expand out to further areas for our hikes, especially in summer wh …

Coastal hikes, inland hikes, simpler walks in town, cultural and social events -- we've expanded beyond the scope of the group's original name. Maybe some "hiking to music" in the form of Square Dancing or Ballroom Dancing. There will be some meetups at Cubberley Pavillion in Palo Alto where lessons are taught at 8pm every Friday and and Saturday nights. Some of our events will be small dog friendly as I have a Papillion. :) The age range is extended to make it a 35-65ish group. Anybody wit …
I decided to start this group because we have some really awesome and fun hiking trails in our area. And also, some of these agencies have docents that really rock. The Open Space Authority docents are friendly, engaging and won't make you cry hiking up the hill (unless you like killer hikes and then they have some crazy intense hikers, too). This group is for anyone who likes to go hiking, or for walks and would like people to go with. If you like walking with other people, if you are shy, frie …

People in this group like hiking and nature walks, and want to learn to identify the native plants of California. We enjoy these plants in every season, from floriferous spring to dormant summer to cool fall to lush winters. We learn about the habitat value of plants, as well as ethnobotanical value as food, medicine, and raw material for twine, baskets, boats, and shelter.
Meetup details are available only to members.
