Walking or hiking. Meet other local people who are interested in walking or hiking for fitness and learning about San Francisco's history, including its movie history. This walking group is unique. We put health 1st and history 2nd. We keep our group together. We go on many different urban walks, in the best areas, that vary greatly in distance, stair climbing, and amount of history facts. We walk at a leisurely pace to enjoy the scenery. Sometimes at a walk's end we have an optional dinner tog …
Would you like to meditate but don't want to sit still. Did you know you can do both. You can start by a 5 minute meditation exercise. I will guide you. Then go for a 30 minute to 1 hour walk. … As a Communication Coach I teach improved focus, listening and communication skills through combining meditation, mindfulness based stress reduction, positive thoughts, and guided imagery and walking. Mindfulness based stress reduction is practicing living each moment as it happens in a non-reactive, non-judgmental, non-striving state, with a clear mind and then letting it go. Keeping your focus allows you to hear what is being said to you and making the best possible decision when you are de …

… Others come out solely for the social time combined with the exercise. Walking for 60 minutes is a great workout as is a 60 minute run. And if you happen to be in the middle, using run/walk technique, that's great too! You must be able to move for 60 minutes. The pace doesn't matter. The goal doesn't matter. If you can't move at a brisk pace for 60 minutes you will not have fun. We are definitely into this for fitness! WOW Participants Include: 1. Fitness runners, walkers, or run/wa …
Welcome to WOW! Meet weekdays and weekends to walk or run 3 miles or more at various locations throughout the Bay Area. Our group is social but fitness is our goal. Minimum requirement is that you can move for 60 minutes already. The pace doesn't matter. Some of us walk for fitness. Some of us mix walking/running. Some of us are pretty serious runners and are training to improve our times. Most of us participate in a race once in a while. I encourage women to compete in a few events every year a …

The Alameda Running and Walking Club is for everyone that wants to enjoy the beauty of Alameda while walking, jogging and running. It is often hard to motivate or commit to getting outside and getting some exercise. What can make it easier and more fun is to do it with other people. Let’s all get together to have a good time! All levels are welcome to join. Any member can suggest a Meetup and if three people say they will attend then it will be scheduled and all the members will be notified. Ple …
Meet other local people in their 30's, 40's & 50's who are interested in Walking for fitness! Not much of a jogger? Me neither. I prefer the relaxation and conversation you gain from walking with a group of friends. Walking in a location with a view, away from the street noise, is a big plus. One of my favorites is Angel Island. Prefer those who are in relatively good shape (capable of walking at a good pace for at least an hour and able to talk at the same time). If you're not sure, chances are …
If you are single, over fifty and still active I encourage you to join this group. I find that there are the " still living an active lifestyle folks" and the " left activity back there somewhere folks". I am active and over fifty and would love to meet others who are, too. Whether we are walking around Lake Merritt or training for a century ride, let's do it with fun, fit people. You are welcome to suggest activities and help organize them. I am based in Oakland but will not limit my activities …

This group is for all Pit Bull and other bully breed owners in the East Bay. We will host organized walks where we can show off how amazing these dogs truly are! All dogs are welcome, including dogs with some social issues. This is a great way to work on socializing your dog in a controlled and safe manner. All dogs must be on a leash (no retractable leashes or long lines), and everyone must be respectful of each others pets and avoid leash greeting your dog(s) without asking owner's permission. …

50's plus women interested in walking ... And talking... Spring will be here soon. Let's get out, walk, talk, and make friends!
Most of our hikes are weekday AM in the Livermore and TriValley. Mostly 1 to 2 hours, we occasionally do longer hikes of 3 or 4 hours. Very rarely weekends, so if that is your only availability, we might not be the right group for you. You don't HAVE to work from home, but if you are available during weekdays (retired, flexible schedule etc) and want to get out in the sun (and rain) and get your fitness and nature fix early in the morning, come on out and join us.
