I'm a first responder in DC at night and I have monday and tuesday nights off, and most of these groups do things on the weekends or at night when it's too late for me to go out before work. So this group is for people in the same situation who are interested in going out on weekdays or nights. This group is for families with children at Columbia Elementary School in Annandale, VA., who are interested in hiking their kids to/from school. Typically, we start at 8:30 AM at Mason District Park, have time to check out the pond and playground, and hike just over a mile to Columbia to be there around 9-ish. Its a great way for kids to start the day! There are no set days. If the weather is nice, there is a good chance that there will be a hike.
